ROME - The Guardia di Finanza has announced that public competitions are being held, based on qualifications and examinations, separate for each part and qualification, to fill the following parts and instruments of the performers' role in the Guardia di Finanza Band: a) First A parts: - 1st Soprano Clarinet in Bb No. 1 (soloist); - 1st Trumpet in Bb High No. 1; - 1st Flugelhorn in Eb; b) First B parts - Cassa (with the obligation of Timpani, Xylophone, Celeste and Vibraphone); c) Second A parts - 1st Flugelhorn in Bb No. 2; - 2nd Tenor Flugelhorn in Bb (with the obligation of Bass Flugelhorn in Bb); d) Second B parts - 2nd Flute (with the obligation of Piccolo); - 1st Soprano Clarinet in Bb No. 8; - 2nd Tenor Trombone; e) Third Parts A - 1st Soprano Clarinet in Bb No. 10; - 2nd Soprano Clarinet in Bb No. 4; f) Third Parts B - 3rd Flute (with the obligation to play the Piccolo); - 2nd Soprano Clarinet in Bb No. 7; - 2nd Soprano Clarinet in Bb No. 8; - 5th Horn. Participation for multiple parts and instruments is permitted.
Italian citizens can participate in the competition, even if they are already serving in the army.
Military personnel currently serving in the Guardia di Finanza (Financial Police) who are under 45 years of age are eligible to participate in the competition. Italian citizens, including those already serving in the armed forces, who are at least 18 years of age and under 40 by the application deadline (noon on November 15, 2025). This age limit is increased by five years for active-duty members of the Armed Forces , the Police Forces, and the National Fire Brigade. All candidates must possess the following qualifications by the application deadline: a. a secondary school diploma that allows enrollment in degree programs at state or legally recognized universities; b. a diploma in the instrument for which they are applying or in a similar instrument, as per Table "H" attached to Legislative Decree no. 27 February 1991. 79, obtained from a state conservatory or other similar legally recognized institution.
Public Digital Identity System (SPID)
The application to participate in the competition must be completed exclusively online on the portal at https://concorsi.gdf.gov.it, following the automated system's instructions. To submit the application, candidates must use one of the following authentication methods: a. Public Digital Identity System (SPID); b. "Enter with CIE" digital identification system using the electronic identity card (CIE) issued by their municipality of residence. After registering on the portal, candidates can complete the application form—accessible through their reserved area—and complete the submission process by following the automated procedure.
